When the Herbalist gardens…

September 24th, 2025

The dining table is covered in young seedlings, the tomatoes have been potted on twice, I planted the Cucurbits too early AGAIN.

This week though it is the Dandelions in the tunnel house that are a profusion of flowers. I love Dandelion stalk noodles. Easy to prepare, a delicious lunch and gives your liver a little Spring toning.

To prepare. Remove the flowering heads off the top of each flowering stalk. Cook stalks in simmering water, enough to cover, for 5 minutes, strain and serve with grated cheese. (From ‘Around the World in 80 plants, by Stephen Barstow).
